Open Our Eyes

Big eyes look out, on the world about,

And we wonder why questions remain.

They’re just like me, which is plain to see,

And yet who is addressing the strain?

She must reach forth, or maybe it’s back,

To the place where she gives fully out of her lack.

And then the two faces finally mirror in close observation.

No speech, but a new understanding. For we are each:

good and bad,
poor and rich,
happy and sad.

But we are not all aware…so how can they care?

No condemnation. But neither stagnation.
